A recording by Gould of the Prelude and Fugue in C, no.1 from the first book of The Well-Tempered Clavier was designated by NASA as one of humanity's greatest achievements. The recording is on Voyager1, which is now approaching interstellar space and is the furthest man-made object from Earth.
